April 2012
This looks like a cracking day out in mid April with
local anglers Ian and Kevin holding up their 20lb Blonde Rays with my
tiddler in the middle weighing half their monster size. All these Blondes
came to the boat towards the end of the ebb at the same time.
March 2012
Soon after we got the White Maiden back on the water after
the winter lift, scrub, anti-foul and engine services the Trident SAC were
testing ground nine miles off the Needles. Actually on this occasion we had
nothing too brilliant but this decent Whiting for Keith that was still
hanging around from the winter season. In a quest for more action we latched
into about a dozen or so Congers to 25lb, caught at the end of the flood
fishing back towards a very large wreck.

February 2012
We only got out the once in February this year before I
wrapped up the 'season' and although it was cold we had a very calm and
comfortable day. The Congers obliged at the start and then right at the end
of the day Ryan latched into and landed this nice 21lb Blonde Ray. She was
released to fight another day.

January 2012
Needles
fishing is generally good for the hardy ones amongst us, early in the new
year.
I like it because of the fishing and not because of the
freezing conditions that often greet us in the mornings.
Left is Keith of the Church Crookham SAC with
a typical January 2012 Whiting.
Myself, along with Steve Davies on the right, can be seen with a pair of early
2012 Cod. Both Cod needed lots of bait to tempt them onto our 10/0 hooks!
Cuttle and squid, being their weakness.
Happy days.
