| White Maiden -
In Build
May 2008 Just a couple of weeks to go!
Here are the latest pictures of 'White Maiden', what a good looking
boat! The plan is coming together, but at the end of the day it is
what the angler thinks about her that really counts. I am still an angler
and I am sure she will not disappoint.

Couldn't get back far enough to get her
all in.

Some idea of proportion, see the guy on
the left, he's not 4'2"!

There are some jobs left still.

The Business End!

Dennis Froud's 'Aristocat'.
Here is Denis Froud's 'Aristocat', with out
riggers fitted and the copper bottom applied. 'Arsitocat' is the same
Classic 995 vessel as 'White Maiden' but has twin inboard 60 Hp Diesel Nanni
engines. She has a range of about 700 miles and is being setup to catch the
first every Rod and Line caught Bill fish from a UK Port. Denis is very keen
to get going and is obviously completely dedicated to seeing his vision come
to light. Talking to him for just 20 minutes has convinced me he will do it
too. His escapades are being filmed for some Sky programming, so hopefully
we will all get a chance to witness this first hand.
What next........ June 12th June, is the Day!
 | 1st June - 'White Maiden' test trip after refit and new
engines. |
 | 10th - 12th of June - She will be on show at Sea Work
'08 ,
Southampton - http://www.seawork.com/ |
 | Thursday 12th June - 'White Maiden' press handover,
last day of Sea Work. |
 | Thursday Evening 12th June - 'White Maiden's, Maiden Hound trip!
Why not, perfect tides and good time of year, to fish for them deep off
Sowley! |
April 2008
 |
White Maiden is now in the BWSeaCat
workshop with new Engines and Bulkhead fitted, still three weeks work to
go! 'White Maiden' is on the left while Denis Froud's 'Aristocat' is on
the right. |
 |
Life Safety Equipment ordered. |
 |
Out of Water Survey next 2 weeks. |

Two Cats, sat side by side in the BWSeaCat workshop.
March 2008
 | Preliminary MCA Surveyors report and Stability Tests. |
 | Deposit taken for Due South, with target handover date
of Sunday 21st June. |
 | Very latest Garmin 5000 GPSMAP Touch Screen Navigation Equipment
ordered. |
 | Latest Yamaha 60 HP Long Shaft Eco Tech Outboard
Engines ordered. |

Stability tests with 12 people stood in middle then to port and then to
starboard. She hardly moved.
February 2008
 | Went down to see how the new BWSeaCat boat, 'Aristocat',
was coming on, and just to say 'hello. 'Aristocat' is another 'Classic 995'
but with 60HP inboard Nanni Diesels, being built for another angler,
Denis Froud, of Conger fame and of the Sports Fishing Club of Great Britian. |
 | Call from Ben at BWSeaCats giving me first refusal over
their test boat, 'White Maiden', a Classic 995 Displacement Catamaran.
|
 | Getting serious now - Skippers test run. Four skippers
on a 20 mile round trip out to Bembridge Ledge Buoy. |
 | Deposit paid. |

Skippers Mike and Ted having a chat.

October 2007
 | Quick test run up to Portsmouth with the family. No
definite plans yet that is for sure but 14 knots on twin 25HP Outboard engines was
very impressive, nearly unbelievable, all at only 1.4ltres per mile for
the two engines! |

September
2007
 | Discovered this radical new design of a Displacement
Catamaran, by BWSeaCat a 'Classic 995', just 12
minutes from where I work! Was this destiny? Who knows we will see. |
