Parents and Kids - Family Trips

There are now some 4 hour charters, ideal for
beginners.
This is for Parents that want to try Boat Angling
with their children. Ideally not
younger than 8 years old and at least one adult per child. The trip will be aimed at those new to Boat
Angling where the simple techniques and tactics can be practiced. This is
what can be expected:
- Vest type lifejackets can be worn, if preferred.
- Rod and Reel Hire at £6 includes lead
weights and traces to suit.
- Bait provided to match the trip.
- There's time to try different methods.
- There is a full standing, flushing sea toilet.
- I make plenty of Tea and Coffee.
Sea sickness can mostly be avoided but this is what you
need to consider:
- Avoid getting anxious so if you need to ask any questions, ask.
- Wearing a lifejacket may help confidence.
- You need some control, so if you feel bad, say so, we could try
a more sheltered mark.
- Eat some dry food if you begin to feel
disorientated.
- Take travel sickness pills if you feel you should.
- Have your 'number twos' before getting on the boat.
If you know you suffer:
- Don't eat fried food or drink acidy juices with
breakfast.
- Take the tablets.
- Keep an eye on the horizon.
- Avoid spending a long period of time looking down into
the boat.
- Don't party until the early hours before a trip.
If it does get to you, then go below and have a sleep. It
works wonders on my kids, they come up for more fishing and generally feel
much better.
