White Maiden is a
fast, 10m BWSeaCat Classic 995 Displacement Motorised Catamaran, with a
4.2m beam. Built by BWSeaCat of Wicormarine near Fareham she is fitted with
a pair of 60HP High Thrust 4 stroke Yamaha Outboards giving 18Knts top speed. She
cruises economically at 14Knts. White Maiden is specifically designed to
give passengers a great day out whether it be Angling, Bird Watching
or Sight Seeing.
She is coded for 10
+ 2, that is for ten passengers (or 7 anglers), a Skipper and a crew person. She is
ideal
for Twitching or Solent Sight Seeing and is equipped for Angling crews,
of up to 7 anglers.
White Maiden is perfect for bird spotting up the Beaulieu River or along the
Island Shores at Newtown Creek, the Chalk Cliffs at Freshwater, the Needles
and Alum Bay.
White Maiden is Coded
for 10 passengers plus 2 crew to Cat 2, which allows for a
60 mile arc from 'Safe Haven' with a Yachtmaster at the helm. I am currently qualified to Coastal Skipper giving me
a 20 mile arc from Safe Haven.
White
Maiden's Key Benefits
1. Two Hulls, Two Engines, Two fuel
tanks, nearly two of everything. This makes 'White Maiden' a safe boat.
2. White Maiden is economical, using around 2.0 litres of
fuel per mile, allowing 'Value For Money' whole boat charters.
3. She is very comfortable and extremely quiet when cruising.
4. Top speed is 18knts with cruising speed an economical 14knts.
5. We are licensed for 10 passengers (but prefer max of 7 anglers) + 2 crew.
6. With a smaller crew of say 5 anglers, you can fish two rods in extreme
comfort, I would choose this option..
7. The 4.2m Beam provides a very spacious and comfortable cockpit area.
8. Les is a qualified technical trainer with a 'Cert Ed'
gained through Greenwich University. Generally this means
some patience is afforded when new anglers do not first understand! You can
only learn boat angling by practice. Do it right and you will catch more
fish!
Lymington
We are at Lymington and pick up from the Bath
Road Pontoon by the Sailing Clubs. Car parking is available all year round
and is free in the winter, Nov - Mar. Lymington is a fantastic harbour
with options ranging from the sheltered waters of the Solent to the middle
of the English Channel and the Channel Islands.

Owner Skipper - Les Jones
I
have
fished these waters for 29 years in various small craft
and have been a 'Coastal Skipper' with a commercial endorsement since
December 2005. In 2007 I passed my Yachtmaster shore-based exam.
White Maiden is my ideal
vessel, giving me stability, comfort and a peaceful ride. White Maiden was
the BW SeaCat demo vessel that was built in June 2006 and used by me
properly since June 2008. Sight seeing and Birdwatching is a new branch for
me but the vessel is ideally suited for this. I still like the buzz of boat
angling competitions but really like specimen hunting. I enjoy my anglers
catching good fish as nearly much as I do, catching them myself.
White Maiden is my own
boat and is a part time business, giving me an alternative earning
opportunity. While my proper day job is a full time Product Support Team
Leader in the 'Public Safety' (Police, Fire, Ambulance) voice recording
market.
Before June 2008, for two and a half years
I owned and Skippered Due South. Until November 2005, for six years, a
Shetland 570 was my preferred boat to get out to the marks and back, fast and safe.
I ran out from the Brickyard Quay at Exbury on the Beaulieu River.
Before that
boat and from the same moorings, and for 12 years, a 17' Wilson
Flyer was ideal, inexpensive and quick! Beaulieu River is a great place to
have a boat and had a couple of advantages over Lymington but was tidal! In 1987 I ran a very
slow, but lovely Aquastar 20' out from Ashlett Creek. While before that I
had a part share in a 20' boat moored at Key Haven.
My first boat was a 14' Mayland with a
Seagull Silver Century, that always started reliably on the
fortieth pull!!
Coaching has always
been part of my normal working life. I gained a
Certificate of Education, graduating from Greenwich University in 2000.
I am a committed Coach to Fawley Rugby Club and train them on Sunday mornings
and Thursday Evenings. This season I am coaching the U13's squad and am the
Junior Fixtures Secretary for my sins. One
aim is to bring the joys of boat angling to a wider audience. With
this in mind, specialist coaching trips can be arranged. The Solent or Christchurch
Bay can provide a convenient and sheltered fishing haven for new and inexperienced sea anglers.

Maiden' is the Business!
